John Surtees, F1 and Motorcycle World Champion Passed Away
John Surtees (February 11, 1934 - March 10, 2017)
BREAKING NEWS: While researching my latest post on a car named The Beast, this afternoon, it was announced that Englishman John Surtees, a legendary F1 & Motorcycling World Champion died has just passed away. John Surtees a unique individual, to say the least. He was the only man to have won the world championship by driving a two, and four wheelers. In my youth, I remembered him as a young brilliant racing motorcyclist who dominated the top 350cc and 500cc class for much of the late 1950s, and early 1960s. In the early 60s, he moved to Formula 1 where he was an immediate hit, winning the Formula 1 championship for Ferrari (1964).
