So here I was having a lazy Friday afternoon catching up with some paperwork, and checking the latest breaking news on the BBC, when I learned that Frank Lampard was planning an arrival to New York City with his fiancĂ©e Christine Bleakley! “Okay" you may say to yourself, "why is he mentioning Frank Lampard; and what's so exciting about him coming to New York?”
Those of you who are regular readers of my fun blog (the latest Google+ views was way over 5,000) will most likely remember that my home town is Putney, London, a few miles from Stamford Bridge a football stadium (soccer to my American friends) for the Chelsea F.C. that is often referred to as simply The Bridge.

From the 1950s through the 1970s, I was following Chelsea by attending their home games, as well as their out of town games. My favorite Chelsea player back then was Peter Osgood, sorry Frank! So now you know I’m a big soccer fan - which at times drives my wife Vyna mad, but believe me, she has the last laugh, and is a regular viewer of the Tennis Channel, by mostly watching Rafa Nadal.

Who is Frank Lampard? Frank is an English professional soccer/footballer and for me a ‘Chelsea legend’. He has played a total of 106 games for England. In July 2014, he signed a two-year contract to play the New York City F.C. for the 2015 MLS season. WELCOME TO NEW YORK FRANK!

Cheers!
It made perfect sense that Frank and Christine took a short trip to New York City this last weekend. Next time you are in town Frank call me and we can chat and have a cup of coffee. And Christine can check Vyna's blog High End Weekly™ for all the best places to shop in the city! I can already see it. You two are going to fit in just fine.
